The Tata 45X concept had its world premiere at Auto Expo 2018 last month, but it was kept inside a closed space there. Finally, at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors is giving a close look at the new concept car.

The Tata 45X concept is one of the first models designed using the IMPACT Design 2.0 design language.

The Tata 45X concept is one of the first models designed using the IMPACT Design 2.0 design language. Tata Motors had promised strong proportions, clean, uncluttered surfacing and exquisite attention to detail with this latest design philosophy and all of that is evident in the new hatchback concept.

At the front, the radically designed show car features the signature humanity line, which is accentuated by dual ultra slim LED headlamps, as well as a digitally inspired lower grille. The positioning of the headlamps well behind the hood gives the car a stealth look at the front. Below them, there are Tri-Arrow patterns in the mid-section, followed by large air inlets on either end of the bumper further below.

On the sides, the belt line first takes a drop almost at the beginning and then strongly rises towards the rear for a sporty look. This way, the driver is left with better side-visibility despite the rising belt line. Other highlights include large, 20-inch wheels wrapped in 235/35 Z R20 tyres, signature Slingshot line amplified by a chrome finisher and surfboard mounted wing cameras.

The rear-end of the Tata 45X is particularly interesting with the prominent roof spoiler. The chrome finisher from the sides continues here, tipping the slim full-LED tail lamps and the Tata Motors logo.

The Tata 45X concept is the first car built on the Advanced Modular Platform (AMP).

The Tata 45X concept is the first car built on the Advanced Modular Platform (AMP). It measures 4,253 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,451 mm in height, and has a 2,630 mm wheelbase. Unfortunately, the production version is likely to have a sub-4 metre body to get classified as a small car, at least in India. Its market launch is expected to take place sometime in 2019.
