Tata Motors has promised a big leap in interior design with its IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy, and that involves a higher level of digitalisation. The company will offer a segment-first semi-digital instrument cluster and a dash-top floating touchscreen infotainment system in the 45X. Where the Harrier features a rounded cluster, the Tata 45X has a squarish unit, and with more usage of blue.

The semi-digital instrument cluster in the Tata 45X comprises a digital display for the rev count and driver information and an analogue speedometer. The digital display will likely mirror media, phone and navigation information.

The Tata 45X sits on the brand-new Advanced Modular Platform, also known as Alfa Arc. It will come with an all-new 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Customers will have a mild-hybrid system option in the petrol model. Instead of a low-cost AMT, Tata Motors is planning an advanced dual-clutch automatic transmission as the AT option for this model. The company hasn’t confirmed any of this, however.
