Tata has launched the Bolt hatchback and Zest compact sedan in Sri Lanka through its distributor DimoLanka, at the 2015 Ceylon Motor Show. The Bolt has a starting price of LKR 2,299,000 (INR 10.99 lakhs) while the Zest costs upwards of LKR 2,810,000 (INR 13.44 lakhs).
The Zest in Sri Lanka is offered with two engine options. The diesel Zest is powered by the 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine capable of 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, matched to the 5-speed automated manual transmission. The petrol unit is a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine developing 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Bolt is available only with the Revotron engine, and makes the same 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque as the Zest, and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Based on the Vista's platform, the Zest and Bolt were showcased prior to the Auto Expo last year, and were launched in the Indian market subsequently (the Zest was launched in September last year, while the Bolt was introduced in January this year).
