Nepal - Tata Bolt & Tata Zest to launch in September
The official distributor of Tata Motors cars in Nepal, Sipradi Trading, has confirmed that the Tata Bolt and the Tata Zest will be launched in the mountain country in September this year.
A price of approximately NPR 2.6 to 2.8 million (Rs 16.25 to Rs 17.50 lakh) for the Tata Bolt and NPR 3 million (Rs 18.75 lakh) for the Tata Zest has been forecast by Prabin Khatiwada, head of the passenger car division at Sipradi.
A report on ekantipur says that the company plans to sell 700 units of both models put together this year. Typically, a model takes 1-2 months to be launched in Nepal after its Indian launch. Sticking to the same timeline means that the Tata Bolt and Zest are likely to have a July-August launch in India. It was reported earlier that these would be launched in August.
The Tata Bolt and Tata Zest were showcased prior to the Auto Expo 2014 in February and have been caught testing multiple times. Both models will use an all-new 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The new engines, under the Revotron family, will produce 85 PS @ 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm between 1,750 and 3,500 rpm.
The Swift competitors will also be powered by the now familiar 1.3-liter Multijet diesel engine sourced from Fiat.
