Tata GenX Nano with Easy Shift teased ahead of today's unveiling - IAB Report
First Nano to be equipped with a functional bootlid and AMT.
Tata Motors have teased the GenX Nano (Nano facelift) on social media channels, and announced that the car will be revealed today. Acknowledging the GenX Nano's redesigned front bumper (which resembles a smiley face), Tata says "The next generation is ready to welcome you with a smile".
The GenX Nano's highlights, apart from cosmetic changes, are a functional bootlid and the convenience of an automated manual transmission (AMT). The Nano AMT, or the Nano Easy Shift as Tata calls it, will have an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 21.9 km/l. Added to that, the GenX Nano will swap its 15 liter fuel tank for a larger 24 liter tank.
The functional bootlid of the GenX Nano will give users access to 110 liters of luggage space. Currently, the Nano's luggage compartment is accessed by folding down the rear seat back.
XE, XM and XT will be the three variants of the GenX Nano with a manual transmission, while the AMT could be offered on the XM and XT. Aside from an all-new Sangria Red shade, the GenX Nano will be available in Meteor Silver, Pearl White, Royal Gold, Dazzle Blue, Damson Purple and Persian Rose colors.
