Tata H5X production-spec - IAB Rendering

Tata Motors unveiled the H5X concept at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this month. The SUV will transition from concept to production-ready by 2019 and to give our readers a fair idea of what the production-spec Tata H5X may look like, IAB's automotive illustrator has shared a speculative rendering.

Pratap Bose, Head of Design, Tata Motors, has said that design wise 80-85% of the Tata H5X concept will be carried over to the production version.

The rendering incorporates production-spec headlamps with LED light guides, radiator grille, and ORVMs. The primary headlamps have a rather unconventional placement in the front bumper. In its concept form, the Tata H5X boasts beefy wheel arches, a high set bonnet, and a sloping roofline. All these elements have been carried over to the rendering of the production-ready version.

Styled based on the Impact Design 2.0 philosophy, the SUV will arrive in early 2019. And if the transition of the Tata Nexon from concept to production is anything to go by, the H5X will retain much of the stunning exterior design that caught everyone's eye at the Auto Expo. Pratap Bose, Head of Design, Tata Motors, has said that 80-85% of the Tata H5X concept will make it into production.

The production version will ride on a reworked version of the Land Rover Discovery Sport’s platform. According to a recent media report, Tata will offer 5- and 7-seat versions, powered by 140 hp and 180 hp versions of FCA’s 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine.
