Tata Motors will unveil the H7X concept at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show (5-17 March). Using details from spy shots, IAB’s artist Shoeb Kalania has already envisioned its production version.

The Tata H7X won't have the coupe-esque styling of the Tata Harrier, but will offer more practicality with two additional rear seats.

The Tata H7X will be essentially a stretched, more family oriented version of the Tata Harrier. With the addition of two rear seats, the exterior design will take a step back with respect to emotion. Due to the conventional roofline and the back glass being a little upright, the 7-seat C-SUV won’t have the same sporty appeal. It will have a 62 mm longer body, albeit with the same wheelbase (2,741 mm).

The Tata H7X will use a more powerful engine than the Tata Harrier. While the latter employs the 140 PS/350 Nm version of the FCA-made 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine, the former will likely sport the 170 PS/350 Nm version. IAB understands that Tata Motors is likely to name the more powerful version ‘Kryotec170’.

The Kryotec170 engine will route power to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. Tata Motors plans to offer the latter, which is sourced from Hyundai, in the Harrier as well.

The Tata H7X will have a 62 mm longer body compared to the Tata Harrier (pictured), but the same wheelbase (2,741 mm).
