Tata Harrier (Tata H5X) side view - IAB Rendering
Based on teaser images, our artist, Shoeb Kalania has created a digital mock-up of the Tata Harrier's (Tata H5X) side profile. Our rendering also takes into account details seen on the H5X concept, including the large 22-inch alloy wheels, squarish wheel arches, the floating roof design and of course the LED taillights which stretch into the D-pillar.
During the unveiling of the H5X concept at the Auto Expo this year, Mr. Pratap Bose, Head of Design, Tata Motors, said that 80-85% of the H5X concept will make it to production, and it certainly seems so based on test mules which have been spotted recently. Tata Motors will also launch a digital configurator for the Harrier whereby customers can spec the SUV on a digital device, and the information is relayed to the production line directly.
The Tata Harrier will be the first product to be based on the Omega (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) platform, which is a heavily re-engineered version of Land Rover’s D8 platform that underpins the Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque. Reports suggest that the SUV will be powered by a 2.0-liter MultiJet II diesel engine sourced from Fiat Chrysler, paired to manual and automatic gearboxes.

The market launch of the Harrier is programmed in the last quarter of this financial year. The Harrier will reportedly be priced so as to rival the mid- and top-end variants of the Hyundai Creta, and variants of the Jeep Compass.
