Dual-light arrangement of the Tata Harrier spied up close
Thrustzone has spotted a heavily camouflaged test mule of the Tata Harrier, one that still gives out a few details of the production version.
Staying true to the H5X concept, the Tata Harrier sports a sleek lighting element along with another cluster of lights below it that seems to sport a projector setup for the low beam and an ellipsoidal lens for the high beam. There's also a set of fog lights positioned below the main beams. The new model is riding on stylish multi-spoke alloy wheels in the latest batch of images.
The Tata Harrier will be the company's first model to follow the Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. Pratap Bose, Head of Design, Tata Motors, has said that as much as 85% of the SUV's exterior will be in line with the H5X concept. Our exclusive spy images of the Harrier's interior have revealed a monotone lighting for the instrument panel along with chrome highlights for the dials. Other highlights of the instrument binnacle include a Multi-Information Display (MID) and digital semi-circular displays for the fuel gauge and instantaneous fuel consumption. The interior will be in a dual tone (black and brown) with unconventional parking brake, 1L bottle holders on the rear doors and dual front airbags spotted on test mules. An AWD system does not appear to be on the menu.
The Tata Harrier will be underpinned by the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA) platform, which is a derivative of the Land Rover D8 platform. Powering the company's new flagship will be FCA's 2.0-liter Multijet II four-cylinder diesel engine that will reportedly output a maximum power of 140 hp. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic. Like the Nexon and the Hexa, the Harrier will offer multi-drive modes.
