New spy video gives closer look at the Tata Harrier’s rear seat & cabin

Most of the Tata Harrier’s interior spy shots so far show the front cabin. YouTube channel Rotelinie has posted a video showing a spy shot of the SUV’s rear cabin.

Thanks to a wide body, the Tata Harrier will likely seat three adults comfortably in the rear.

Premium models designed for India have a higher focus on the rear cabin because owners employ chauffeurs. The Tata Harrier should offer generous space and ample amenities for the rear-seat passengers. Thanks to a wide body, it will likely seat three adults comfortably. Equipment for the rear-seat passengers may include folding centre armrest with cupholders, adjustable headrests, two AC vents, two USB ports and one-litre bottle holders.

Touch-operated large central display, sliding front centre armrest, power driver’s seat, electric sunroof, engine start-stop button, leather upholstery and dual-tone colour scheme are some more expected interior features of the Tata Harrier.

Tata Motors has developed the Harrier on a modified version of Jaguar Land Rover’s D8 platform. It will offer the first model incorporating the IMPACT Design 2.0 design language with only a diesel engine - 2.0-litre MultiJet II. Sourced from FCA, this turbocharged four-cylinder mill will have a maximum power output of 140 PS. It will send the drive to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission or a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission. Availability of an AWD system is unlikely.

The Tata Harrier will go on sale in early 2019, while its 7-seat version (Tata H7X) will follow in 2020.
