Tata Hexa snapped in Pune again - Spied

Expected to be launched early next year.

The Tata Hexa was spotted testing again, in Pune, this time by Team BHP members.

The Tata Hexa concept was presented at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Tata Hexa concept was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and is nothing but a reskinned Aria MPV with SUV/crossover styling elements. In its second innings, Tata will target the Mahindra XUV500, and other similarly priced compact SUVs like the Creta and Duster.

The Hexa would be powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 engine, mated to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

The Aria was loaded with features including 6 airbags, disc brakes on all wheels, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Traction Control System (TCS), cruise control, automatic headlamps with projector lights, rain sensing wipers, 10-speaker Harman music system with an 8-channel amplifier, NAVTEQ navigation system, 4x4 Adapterra, dual Air Conditioning with Fully Automated Climate Control (FATC), and the like, all of which would make it to the upcoming Hexa.

Additional the cabin will be redesigned keeping in mind Tata's latest styling philosophy, such as the short-diameter steering wheel, piano-black accents, better quality trim and optional captain's chairs for the second row.

The 7-seat SUV is expected to carry over features from the Aria.

The concept was showcased with the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine that produces 154.2 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm at 1,700 - 2,700 rpm. The same unit would be offered on the production version, with a 6-speed manual transmission and reportedly an optional 6-speed automatic sourced from General Motors.

The Auto Expo 2016 could be an ideal platform to debut the production Hexa.
