Tata Kite 5 sedan to launch in April 2017 - Report

Rumoured to be called Tata Viago or Tata Altigo.

According to Autos Arena, the Tata Kite 5 sedan will launch in April 2017 for sale. Tata Motors is yet to confirm a launch date for their sub-4m sedan.

Unique to the Kite 5 are a stubby boot, wraparound taillamps and a long LED strip for the third brake light.

Rumoured to be called the Tata Viago or Tata Altigo, it is based on the Tata Tiago hatchback which is apparent by its shared front-end and interior. Unique to the Kite 5 are a stubby boot, wraparound taillamps, dual-spoke alloy wheels and a long LED strip for the third brake light.

The interior design is identical to the Tiago but finished in a slightly darker shade. Top-end variants have been spotted featuring a Harman touchscreen infotainment system, auto HVAC, and reverse parking camera. The Kite 5 is confirmed to offer a class-leading boot capacity of 420 litres.

The Tiago will share its engine lineup with the Kite 5 sedan, which includes a 1.2L three-cylinder Revotron petrol and 1.05L Revotorq diesel engines. A 5-speed manual will be fitted as standard, while an AMT option is in the works for both the Kite 5 and Tiago.

Like its bigger sibling - Tata Zest - all variants will come equipped with ECO and CITY driving modes.
