Expected to reach the market next year.

Tata Motors' next all new product in the market is going to be a replacement to the ageing Indica hatchback. Codenamed Kite, it's based on a re-engineered version of the Indica platform which will spawn a sedan version, too. And while it has made a couple of appearances in the form of spy pics on IAB, here's a glimpse at what its interior could be like.

The Tata Kite will offer better quality interior in comparison to Indica hatchback it replaces.

The latest spyshot shows a dashboard that sits a little higher than the one on the Indica. The air conditioner vents appear to be rectangular, and the instrument cluster is smaller in comparison. Much like the Zest and the Bolt, the Kite is expected to have improved interior, both in terms of quality and design.

To recap the previous reports, the Kite hatchback and sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel options. While the petrol engine will be a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre unit (likely to be based on the Revotron but without a turbocharger), the diesel will be a 1.05-litre three cylinder unit that makes reportedly develops 64 hp of maximum power and 142 Nm of maximum torque.

Both engines are newly developed, and could come mated to an automated manual transmission (AMT) as well.

The Tata Kite duo (hatchback and sedan) will be powered by newly developed 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05-litre diesel engines.

Tata's production facility at Sanand, Gujarat, which makes the Nano, will take care of manufacturing the Kite, and the same could be said about its sedan (Indigo eCS replacement) version, as it is a variant extension.
