Spied - Tata Kite sedan (Indigo eCS replacement) caught again
Launch expected next year.
Tata is busy testing two very important cars at the moment, one of which will go ahead to replace the Indica while the other will take the place of the Indigo eCS sub 4-meter sedan. Codenamed 'Tata Kite', the hatchback was recently caught testing in Pune, while its sedan sibling has just made another appearance. But sadly it too is covered in camouflage, not revealing its design.
Spotted by an Autocar reader, the Kite sedan was caught in Pune, Maharashtra where Tata Motors has its production facility. The sedan is currently undergoing tests and is expected to launch sometime in 2015 after the Bolt and the Kite hatchback, if Tata continues to focus on one product at a time.
The heavily covered mule doesn't reveal a lot of information, especially since even the tail lamps mounted on the sedan are not in the bodywork.
Powering the car will be two new engines made by Tata: a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.05-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine which is derived from the company's current 1.4-litre DICOR diesel engine. As for the gearbox, expect the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) to be offered, as soon as Tata Motors has cleared obstructions in the supply chain.

While the two cars are still about a year away, both are expected to feature better quality interior, safety and infotainment features, and improved dynamics over what the current Indica and Indigo eCS offer.
