Tata Nano Showcased at 'Vibrant Gujarat' Summit

 

At the 4th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit (VGGIS) 2009, held on 12th & 13th January 2009 at Science City, Ahmedabad, the 'World's Cheapest Car' - Tata Nano was on display- in a bid to manifest one of its greatest achievements (by being home to Tata Motors' mother plant) till date. Ratan Tata's Rs 1 lakh car Nano, was among the 227 stalls which were a part of the exhibition.

Ratan Tata, chairman, Tata group said, "We have recently shifted our prestigious Nano car plant to Gujarat. The company will invest Rs 21,000 crore more in the state. Besides, we will also set up a geo-thermal power plant."

"There is something in Gujarat which is attracting companies from all over the world. They are coming here because they know they can gain from the relationship with Gujarat. They have faith in the state," Chief Minister, Modi said while inaugurating the exhibition which showcases companies from power and gas, engineering, SMEs, health and education etc.

"The Summit, apart from show-casing Gujarat, affords a precious opportunity in the form of stalls to corporate houses, institutions and investors to make their presence felt in a big way. They will also have an ideal opportunity to showcase their products, innovations and strengths as well as have business-to-business interactions with participating domestic and foreign delegates" Claim Officials.

According to company sources, the Tata Nano will be Officially launched on the 26th of January 2009 but bookings are said to start only in March 2009.
