Report - Tata Nano Twist XE to launch next month; CX, LX discontinued
The Twist XE is essentially the power steering equipped version of the CX.
Tata Motors will rejig the Nano's variants next month, and will introduce power steering on the base variant of the car.
The Nano range currently includes the older models (available in Standard, CX, LX), the new Nano/Awesome Nano (available in CX and LX variants), the Nano Twist XT and the Nano CNG. The new Nano CX and LX variants will be discontinued next month.
A new Nano Twist XE will be launched next month, and it will be placed below the Nano XT. As its name connotes, the Nano Twist XE will get power steering and it is based on the CX trim. Going by the images here, the Twist XE will do without body colored bumpers and wheel caps, and will come in three colors - Silver, Gold and White.
The EPAS (electric power assisted steering), larger steering wheel, the new instrument cluster with features like distance-to-empty, average fuel economy and LED bars for engine temperature and fuel gauge, along with features already seen on the Nano CX will be offered on the XE.

Apart from the variant reshuffle, Tata is expected to launch the refreshed Nano with features like an automated manual transmission (AMT) and a functional hatch next year.
