Tata Nexon shows its dual-tone bootlid in new spyshots
Expected to launch in March 2017.
These spyshots, published by CarWale, show a Tata Nexon prototype on test in Maharashtra. Interestingly, there is very little camouflage over the boot, offering us a better look at the design of the compact SUV.
As can be seen, the Nexon's bootlid opts for a dual-tone finish with the silver body color complemented with a black strip (likely a ceramic strip). The absence of a rear wiper confirms that the prototype here is a base/mid-level variant.
The Tata Nexon is expected to launch in March 2017 rivalling the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300. It will be powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a petrol engine.
The petrol option could be a turbocharged version of the Tiago's 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron unit, developing as much as 120 PS. The same engine is reported to power the Tata Tiago Sport, which will launch this festive season. Aside from a manual gearbox, AMT variants have also been spied on test.

Tata Motors will launch the Tata Kite 5 compact sedan, Tiago Sport and Hexa SUV this calendar year, whereas the Nexon will arrive towards the end of this fiscal year. With the new lineup of products, the company aims to figure in the list of top three carmakers in the country.
