Tata Nexon compact SUV's interior snapped with AMT - Spied [Update]
Update - Upon closer inspection, the gearlever appears to resemble a manual transmission than an automated manual unit.
Confirmed for Auto Expo 2016.
Indian Autos Blog reader Mr. Abhishek Joshi has snapped the interior of the Tata Nexon compact SUV (Tata Osprey compact SUV), ahead of its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 next week.
The interior of the Nexon sports horizontally-profiled AC vents, an instrument cluster derived from the Tata Bolt/Tata Zest, the short-diameter three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and rotary controls for the HVAC system. It is evident that the test mule here is not the top-end variant, as it misses out on a touchscreen entertainment system and automatic climate control.
The Tata Nexon is the company's much-awaited rival to the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300, not to forget the Maruti Vitara Brezza. It is reportedly based on the Tata Vista's platform and is expected to launch later in the calendar year.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog in a recent interview, Mr. Pratap Bose, head of design for Tata Motors, said that the production model will remain true to the concept shown at the Auto Expo 2014. The concept measured 4,000 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height.

The Nexon sub-4m SUV is expected to be powered by Tata's new all-aluminium Revotron petrol engine and a four-cylinder diesel engine. The diesel engine could be the reliable Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter unit.
