Reported to be offered with a 5+2 seating arrangement.

The grille design appears to be inspired by the Tata Zica hatchback and Nexon Concept.

Though the test mule is comprehensively camouflaged, the overall positioning of the headlights, foglights and grille is similar to that of the Nexon concept, which was revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo. The design of the rear windows, with a tapering quarter-glass panel also appears identical to the concept.

The Nexon will measure under 4 meters in overall length, and multiple reports have stated that it could be offered with a 5+2 seating arrangement. Tata could offer jump seats at the rear, like in the Mahindra TUV300 or Quanto.

The Nexon will be based on the Vista's X1 platform, and is codenamed 'Osprey'. When launched, it will use the 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced MultiJet engine with the possibility of manual and automated manual transmissions. The petrol engine in question, is reported to be a turbocharged version of the all-new all-aluminium 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron engine that debuts in the Zica hatchback.

The year 2016 would be a potentially important year for Tata Motors in terms of new product launches. The Zica hatchback, Zica-based compact sedan, the Hexa and the Nexon would round up new offerings from the car maker.
