Tata Nexon spied undisguised for the first time on test

Will launch this festive season.

A white Tata Nexon has been spied undisguised by a Team-BHP reader on test. So far, test mules spotted have been sporting camo wrap on its exterior, but this is the first instance that the Nexon has been snapped in its production-ready exterior, ahead of its launch in October reportedly.

The Nexon has a unique exterior styling that draws influence from Tata's IMPACT design language.

The model seems to be the top-end variant with an all white exterior and 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, while more expensive variants with dual tone colour options will be available as well. It has a unique exterior styling that draws from Tata's IMPACT design language.

The Nexon is Tata's first compact 5-seater SUV to launch in India, measuring 3,995 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and 1,607 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,498 mm and a ground clearance of 200 mm. It debuted in production-spec form at the Auto Expo 2016 and was recently showcased in a European flavour at the Geneva Motor Show 2017.

The Nexon is Tata's first compact 5-seater SUV and shares the Tata Zest's platform.

The engine lineup is confirmed to include an all-new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol variant could pack a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata will load the cabin with a free-standing infotainment screen, Terrain Management dial and drive mode options, a step up from the HMI of the Zest.

It is unclear if Tata will offer an automatic gearbox, but we are expecting an AMT in both variants.
