Tata Nexon spotted with Tigor-esque alloy wheels

Team-BHP member Autospy has posted a spyshot of a Tata Nexon test mule with alloy wheels that look similar to the top-end Tata Tigor XZ (O) 15-inch 5-spoke diamond cut set. It's likely to be offered on mid-tier variants of the Nexon. The base model could get steel rims with full wheel covers, and the range-topping model wearing 16-inch dual-tone rims.

The rims are likely only for mid-tier variants of the Tata Nexon.

The test mules spied lately, including the above, continue to feature a camouflage wrap, although the final exterior and interior design have been revealed to the public. The Nexon is Tata’s first-ever sub-4m SUV. By the looks of it, it's also their most striking utility vehicle yet, drawing cues from Tata's IMPACT design language. It measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and 1,607 mm in height. The Ford EcoSport/Maruti Vitara Brezza figher has a wheelbase of 2,498 mm and a 200 mm GC.

Tata Motors had confirmed the engine lineup of Nexon earlier this week, which includes both petrol and diesel variants. The former has a new 1.2 L three-cylinder Turbocharged Revotron Petrol engine that puts out 110 PS of and 170 Nm of peak torque, while the latter packs a new 1.5 L Revotorq engine with 110 PS and 260 Nm. Power gets channelled to the front wheels via the new 6-speed manual transmission. Mileage figures are awaited.

The Tata Nexon interior will have a dual-tone beige & black colour theme.

Media drives of the Tata Nexon commence next week, so expect a detailed first drive report to arrive shortly after. Following that, official bookings of the Nexon will open from the first week of August, although some dealerships are unofficially accepting bookings now. The initial stock will reach showrooms towards the end of August, before Tata finally launches the car the same month.
