Tata Tiago EV - Auto Expo 2018 Live

The Tata Tiago EV has made its public debut at Auto Expo 2018. The pure electric car was first introduced as a concept in the UK in September last year.

The Tata Tiago EV has the same dimensions as the regular Tata Tiago and a nearly identical design. In place of the upper grille, the pure electric variant has a black nose cone with blue ‘EV’ badge on it and a blue accent strip at the bottom. The fog lamps too carry the blue accent.

The sides are flooded with blue ‘EV’ lettering. Two more features worth noting on the sides are black mirrors and the same 15-inch alloy wheels from the Tata Tigor, but with blue accent. At the rear, the E and V letters of the name badge are in blue and there’s a light blue sticker reading “Powered by Electra EV”. EV decals are seen here too. The zero-emissions Tiago is in the top-of-the-line XZ grade.

The Tata Tiago EV is a product developed by Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC). It is powered by an electric motor that generates 30 kW (40.21 hp) at 4,500 rpm. This electric motor gets its juice from a 216 Ah battery. Charging from 0-80% takes 360 minutes (6 hours) using a normal charger or just 90 minutes (1.5 hours) using a fast charger. The zero-emissions vehicle has a driving range of 130 km and a top speed of 100 km.

Tata Motors has not announced the launch timeline of the Tata Tiago EV.
