Tata Tigor EV - Auto Expo 2018 Live
Along with the Tata Tiago EV, the Tata Tigor EV is on display at Auto Expo 2018. Production of the pure electric sedan commenced just two months back, in December.
The Tata Tigor EV has the same dimensions as the Tata Tigor. It measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537 in height. It has a 2,450 mm wheelbase and a 170 mm ground clearance. Powering this sub-4 metre sedan, however, is an electric motor manufactured by Electra EV. A 216 Ah battery is the motor's power source. Charging the battery from 0-80% takes 6 hours (using a normal charger)/1.5 hours (using a fast charger).
The Tata Tigor EV features exterior modifications similar to that of the Tata Tiago EV, in order to set itself apart from the regular Tata Tigor. Its distinguished front-end consists of a black nose cone with blue ‘EV’ badge on it and a blue accent strip at the bottom and fog lamps with blue accent.
Changes on the sides include blue ‘EV’ decals, blue ‘EV’ badge on the right-side fender, black ORVMs and blue accent on the 15-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the tailgate garnish is in blue, and so are the E and V letters of the name badge. Like on the Tata Tiago EV, a ‘Powered by Electra EV’ sticker and ‘EV’ decals are also there. The roof is in black to go with the tri-colour scheme.
The Tata Tigor EV’s production takes place in Sanand, Gujarat, where the Tata Tigor is also made. Currently, Tata Motors is producing the car only for the Indian government.
