Tata Tigor Sport - Rendering
Could arrive as a limited edition model.
Tata Motors launched the Tata Tigor in India this week at a starting price of INR 4.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Currently, it is available only in two mechanical configurations, but up ahead, the company will introduce an AMT.
Speaking to IAB at the Tata Tigor's launch, Vivek Srivatsa, Marketing Head, Tata Motors, without discussing specifics, confirmed that the company would expand the Tigor range further. While a crossover-styled 'Tigor Aktiv' like the Tata Tiago Aktiv is unlikely, a variant like a 'Tigor Sport' is the next derivative, as per an Autocar India report, through Tata's 50:50 joint venture with Jayem Automotives for performance cars.
With the Tata Bolt Sport cancelled, the Tata Tiago Sport was reported last year as one of the future products to arrive from Tata Motors. The Tata Tigor could follow with a Sport variant packing featuring similar mechanical attributes.

The Tata Tigor is currently available with the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 PS at 6,000 rpm. On the Tigor Sport, the engine could be stretched to make 95 PS in the first stage, and later dialled up to output 110 PS. A 5-speed manual transmission could be standard.
