IAB Report - Tata Zest to get upgraded infotainment system with video and navigation
Video and navigation are the new features.
The upcoming Tata Bolt will be fitted with a Harman infotainment touchscreen system which has all the features that were there on the Zest and a few more.
To begin with, the Bolt's system can play video using SD Card, a first-in-segment feature. The video can be played even while the car is on the move, which goes to say that the driver needs to exercise caution in order to not get distracted. Another feature available on the Bolt's system is navigation. No, the system does not come with in-built maps, rather the display can mirror your smartphone's Maps application.
Indian Autos Blog learns that the new infotainment system will also make its way onto the Zest next year. Apart from supporting these new features, the system gets all the regular features that are already seen such as touchscreen operation for the automatic climate control, voice recognition, USB, AUX-in, CD/MP3, SMS readout, reject call with SMS feature and a photo viewer.
The head unit is paired to 8-speakers on the top-end variant (2 speakers and 2 tweeters each at the front and rear).
