The Tata Zest is now offered in three 75 PS and three 90 PS diesel variants. Earlier only the base version was offered with the 75 PS engine.

Since the launch the 75 PS diesel engine came only on the entry-level variant (XE) and the remaining five variants were offered with the 90 PS version of the same motor. Now the company provides the low-spec engine on the second and third base versions - XM and XMS - instead of the 90 PS motor. In addition, the company now offers alloy wheels on the high-end XT and XTA models only.
