Market launch set for early-January.

Seen here are images of what could be the base variant of the Tata Zica, which will have its media premiere later in the week.

The Zica, like the Bolt and Zest, could be offered in at least four variants.

Despite being the base variant, the Zica in these images sports foglights, the chrome highlight for the grille, body-colored wing mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a rear wiper and washer. However, it sports black bumpers and door handles, and steel wheels. Expect the variant lineup of the Zica to be similar to that of the Bolt/Zest such that at least four variants are offered: XE, XM, XMS and XT.

Power for the Zica will reportedly come from only three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

Tata have released the official images of the Zica, though its specifications are still under wraps. According to reports, it will be powered by an all-new three-cylinder 1.2-liter petrol engine and a three-cylinder 1.05-liter diesel engine. Both engines could be offered with manual and automated manual transmissions.

The Zica will roll out from Tata's Sanand, Gujarat, plant.

When launched (reported to take place in the first week of January 2016), the Zica will rival the likes of the Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Celerio and the Hyundai i10. According to reports, it could be priced from INR 3.6 lakhs, ex-Showroom.

The Zica is based on a re-engineered version of the Indica's platform. It'll be manufactured at Tata's Sanand plant in Gujarat.
