Tata Zica fully revealed - Breaking

A new styling direction for Tata Motors.

Seen here are the first images of the Tata Zica, sans camouflage, ahead of its world premiere next week.

Tata Zica front quarter revealed
An all-new 1.2-liter petrol engine is expected to power the Zica.

The Zica, which was earlier known by its codename, Kite, is Tata Motors' all-new offering in the compact car segment, and will rival the likes of the Hyundai i10, Maruti Celerio and Chevrolet Beat, when its launched in early-January.

Seen in these spyshots is likely the top-end variant of the Zica, as it is equipped with alloy wheels, chrome-highlights for the foglamps, grille and interior door handles, a rear wiper and rear parking sensors.

Tata Zica rear revealed
The market launch of the Zica is expected to take place in the first week of January 2016.

The spyshot also reveals that the Zica will get a dual-tone black-and-beige interior, individual rear headrests, and 60:40 split folding rear seats. Apart from this, turn indicators on wing mirrors, a Harman-sourced sound system, front and rear power windows, steering mounted controls, ABS, EBD and dual airbags are expected to be seen on the Tata Zica.

Tata Zica side revealed
The Zica family will also include a compact sedan, which is expected to be revealed in early-2016.

The Zica is underpinned by an extensively modified version of the Tata Indica platform. The highlight of the Zica, according to reports, will be its new engines. On the petrol front, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine (an all-new engine from the ground up) will drive the Zica via a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine is reported to be a 1.05-liter three-cylinder unit, and it could receive manual and automated manual transmissions.

The Zica will be produced at Tata's Sanand plant in Gujarat. The name, according to Tata Motors, is derived from 'Zippy Car'.
