India-spec Yamaha R3 spied up-close ahead of its launch today - Report
Reportedly priced at INR 3.4 lakhs (on road, Bangalore)
The India-spec Yamaha YZF-R3 (Yamaha R3) has been photographed in detail at a dealership in Bengaluru, hours ahead of its launch, by Yamaha Riders Club - India.
Motoroids explains that the instrument cluster holds on to the digital display with an analogue tachometer similar to the Yamaha YZF-R15. However, the YZF-R3's tachometer is positioned on the left of the digital meter and comes with a gear and oil temperature indicator, unavailable on the R25. The gear shift indicator is places over the instrument cluster while the tell-tale indicators are grouped on the left. The tacho shows that the motorcycle red-lines at 12,500 rpm.
The YZF-R3, as per the uploaders, will be fitted with MRF ZAPPER S 140/70-17 segment tire at the rear and come with optional ABS brakes. According to the same source, the motorcycle would be priced at INR 3.4 lakh (on-road Bangalore).

The Yamaha YZF-R3 is packed with a 321 cc inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that develops 42 PS and 29.6 Nm of torque and is paired to a constant mesh, 6-speed transmission. It will will be assembled in India with CKD kits manufactured and shipped by PT. YIMM (Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing).
