Showroom-ready Yamaha YZF-R3 spotted in Mumbai - Spied
Powered by a 321 cc twin-cylinder engine.
BikeAdvice reader Rahul snapped this image of a brand new Yamaha YZF-R3 in Vashi, Mumbai, recently. This is the second spotting of the Yamaha R3 in India, hinting that the Japanese major may finally launch the sports bike in the second half of this year.
However, Yamaha India has not confirmed launches of the either the R3 or the less-powerful R25. Speaking to Indian Autos Blog in May this year, Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Ltd., said that the company was "thinking" of introducing a product above the R15, but did not go into the specifics.
To recap, the Yamaha R3 is powered by a twin cylinder 321 cc engine capable of 42 PS and 29.6 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed transmission. Yamaha says that it has given the motorcycle racing-derived features such as a direct drive camshaft, forged pistons, carburized conrods and low-friction pistons.
