Report - Hennessey Venom GT 'World’s Fastest Edition' launched

The Hennessey Venom GT set a new world speed record for two-seat sports cars by reaching a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center last month. The company has announced plans to launch the "World’s Fastest Edition" Venom GT to celebrate this achievement.

The Hennessey Venom GT World’s Fastest Edition will feature a special paint scheme incorporating the colours of the American flag - red and blue stripes on a white background. Production is limited to three units, all of which are sold already at a price of $1.25 million U.S (INR 7.5 crore) each.

American supercar Venom GT reached over 270 mph on the same runway where space shuttles land at the Kennedy Space Center.

The Venom GT being the fastest series-produced road car is also a Guinness World Record holder for standing-start acceleration, reaching 300 km/h (186 mph) from zero in just 13.63 seconds. It is possible credit to a new 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 1,244 bhp and 1,565 Nm of toque.

The Venom GT utilizes aluminium construction, carbon-fibre bodywork and featherweight carbon-ceramic brakes for an extraordinary power to weight ratio.
